Descriptive note: On rectangular shaped black wooden frame that has a raised oval centre and glass front with brass coloured inner mount. The back of the frame is covered in maroon fabric. At the top centre of the frame is a metal pin and loop to suspend or hang frame (loop is 2.1 cm). This portrait resembles the painting by Nathaniel Dance-Holland (1735-1811), held at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, England. Bequeathed by Sir William Dixson, 1952
