Acquisition: Sir Charles Nicholson's family presented the volume in 1924

Binding: 17c. or 18c. cream doe skin over boards, spine carries gilt title OPERA / STI AUGUSTINI / MS. and a small paper sticker with the no.23 (or 25) partly effaced.

Catchwords: Catchwords cut off

Collation: (10)1-16 (8)17 (7)18. The last quire lacks its final sheet. Av., 102r.b, Br. and Bv. are blank.


Condition: Edges slightly trimmed. Water stains throughout on upper right-hand corners.

Deco desc: red rubrics; running Book numbers in dark brown ink; initials alternately blue with red penwork and red with blue penwork; small caps in red; the very large initials also contain green in their colouring; chapter nos in brown ink in. the margins. The scribeƕs indications for the titles to be inserted by the rubricator are still visible in some margins.
