Acquisition: Sir William Dixson bequeathed the MS. in 1952

Binding: l9c. brown pigskin, covers with three fillets in blind and stylized gilt floral spray in the centre. Spine gilt with title HORAE / MSS. / SAEC XV.

Folio 32 is misbound and should be read after 39: quire 5 therefore really lacks its last sheet and quire 6, although of seven sheets, would be complete when fol.32 is added. Quire 7 wants its second, fifth, sixth and eighth sheets. Quire 8 lacks its second and sixth sheets. Ar.ÑBv., 2 74v., Cr.ÑDv. are blank


Condition: Edges trimmed and gilded Vertical strips have been cut from the outer margins of fols 10 and 25.

Deco desc: French: brown and red entries in the Calendar; red rubrics; small caps gold with black penwork, blue with red penwork; other caps and fillÑins are gold, red, blue with white tracery. Large illuminated initials (40 x 40mm.) in gold, green, blue, brown, red, mauve with full borders of acanthus- leaf sprays and flowers (7r., 10r., 13r., 25 r., 50r., 63r.).
