Binding: a vellum sheet (see MS Sinclair no. 231 II), and on the spine in the 19c. was placed the lettering ÔManuscrit Plein ChantÕ and Ô13e & 14e sicleÕ (sic).


Collation: (8)1 (7)2 (8)3-6 (3)7 (6)8 (2)9 The first sheet of the first quire is from another contemporary manuscript and it has a miniature and layout that do not correspond to the design impressed on Cv. Quire 2 wants its seventh sheet, quire 7 lacks at least one folio after its present third sheet, quire 9 wants its final sheets. Bv.-Cv., 1v., Gr. are blank


Condition: Edges trimmed

Deco desc: red rubrics; coloured caps; illuminated initials and marginal extensions in gold, red, blue, with white tracery; the initials on 51r.-58v. are alternately red, with blue penwork and blue, with red penwork. On 1r. is a miniature, from a contemporary MS., depicting David and Goliath, surrounded on three sides by a border in which are grotesques, flowers, and a boy in blue tunic with fishing-line.

Provenance: on front cover a 15c. hand has written ÔLes processions avec les respond[s] du saint jeudiÕ; on Av. in a l6c. hand is the note ÔPour ce souvenir ce que lÕon dit aux pourcessions que lÕon fait au dortoier, a lÕenfermerie, a lÕouvroy[r] et a la cuissine . . . de quoy la prieure dit la coletteÕ; on 58v. in a 16c. hand is a note in French about the responsory Ascendente de ualle; on Dr.-Fv. in the same hand are responsories and antiphons (with music) for the feasts of Michael, Apostles, Martyrs and the Ad Benedictus Dominica 24 post octauas Trinitatis; in many places in the codex the letter i received a dot and syllables were given stress marks, probably in the 1 7c. -- see the comment in French by a 19c. hand on Br.; Ar. has Ô450Õ in modern pencil and brief remarks in English on the date of the MS.,
