Binding: modern red calf over oak boards. Covers have a wide and narrow fillet in blind and in the centre the stamp of the Public Library of Victoria with lettering in gilt VELLUM LEAVES / FROM A / FIFTEENTH CENTURY SERVICE BOOK.

Deco desc: red rubrics; caps alternately red, with blue penwork and blue, with red penwork; initials coloured red, mauve, blue, white; on 1v. is an historiated initial (115 x 100mm.), Italian style, in gold, blue, pink, vermilion, grey, brown, black, depicting, in the upper half, Herod ordering soldiers to slay children, and, in the lower half the slaughter is carried out.

Extent: seven folios in one gathering

Foliation: foliation 70-76 by a 16c. hand
