Acquisition: purchased in 1965 from Mr P. Strong, of Mosman, New South Wales.

Binding: 19c. (?) calf over boards; covers carry archways with fleurons in profusion, all arranged in vertical panels.

Collation: (9)1 (10)2-3. Quire 1 lacks its first leaf. Ar., Br., Bv., are blank.

Deco desc: central Italian in style: red rubrics; small caps alternately red, with mauve penwork, and blue, with red penwork; large illuminated initials (37 x 32 or 27 x 22mm.) with letter and flourishes in red, blue, orange, green, and mauve on a gold ground and three gold spangles in the margin; on 12r. is a very large initial (63 x 58mm.) in the same style (but with black extensively employed) and enhanced by marginal leaf sprays with gold spangles.
