Acquisition: Sir Charles Nicholson's family presented the volume in 1924

Binding: 17c. (?) bare wooden boards, damaged spine in calf bear ing intertwining vine shoots and border of leaf sprays in blind, and gilt lettering BARTHOLOMEUS / M.S. / SEC. XIV. (sic); remains of leather strap on front cover, brass attachment clasp on back cover.

Condition: Edges cut. There are worm-holes in the covers.

Deco desc: rubrics are red; caps and paragraph marks alternately red and blue; initials at the head of each alphabetical section are alternately red with blue penwork and blue with red penwork. One large initial (30 x 30mm.) in blue, pale yellow, and purple on 1r.a.
